FAQ & troubleshooting

Quick answers, and a table of every message the app can show with what it means and what to do.

General questions

Is Self-Quantum Liquidity custodial?[+]

No. Self-Quantum Liquidity has no contract that holds your funds and no server that holds your keys. When you create a position the tokens go from your wallet directly into Uniswap's contracts, and the position NFT is sent to your own address.

Does Self-Quantum Liquidity charge a fee?[+]

The app does not add a fee of its own. You still pay the network's gas on each transaction, and the pool's fee is what traders pay liquidity providers.

Do I need an account or a token to use it?[+]

No. There are no accounts. Reading needs nothing, and creating a position needs only a browser wallet with the tokens and gas.

Is it audited?[+]

No. Self-Quantum Liquidity is new software and has not been independently audited. The create flow was tested on a local fork with a test wallet. Start small and read the Security guide. The Uniswap contracts it talks to are a separate matter and are widely used.

Which wallets work?[+]

Browser wallets that follow the standard EIP-6963 or EIP-1193 interfaces, such as MetaMask or Rabby. WalletConnect (mobile wallets) is not supported yet.

What does Self-Quantum Liquidity know about me?[+]

It has no database and does not store your address or positions. Your browser reads blockchain data from public endpoints, which can see your IP and the addresses you look up. See What Self-Quantum Liquidity knows about you.

Can I use it on my phone?[+]

Reading works in any mobile browser. To create a position you need a wallet that can run inside the page (for example the wallet app's built-in browser).

Reading pools and positions

A pool I expected is missing from the Pools table.[+]

The scan covers major pairs only (each network's wrapped native asset against USDC, plus BTC where available). Use Look up any pair with the two token addresses. Also try Show empty pools: the pool may exist but have no liquidity and so be hidden.

Why do two pools for the same pair show different prices?[+]

Small gaps are normal and arbitrage keeps them small. A gap of more than about 1% usually means one of the pools is thin or stale. Trust the deepest pool, and treat the outlier with suspicion.

Why is TVL a dash on v4 rows?[+]

All v4 pools share one contract, so a single pool's token balance cannot be read separately. Self-Quantum Liquidity shows the pool's liquidity instead.

What does “native” mean next to a pair?[+]

A v4 pool that uses the chain's own coin (for example ETH) instead of the wrapped token (WETH). Both variants can exist for the same pair.

My position is not shown on the Positions tab.[+]
  • Check the address is the one that owns the NFT, and read all networks (the list is grouped by network).
  • For v2, only major pairs are detected. For v4, Self-Quantum Liquidity shows only a count.
  • Only the latest 25 v3 positions per network are shown.
  • If a network reported an error, press Refresh.
Why does a status say OUT OF RANGE?[+]

The pool's current price is outside your position's range, so it holds one asset and earns no fees. See When it goes out of range.

Why do amounts differ from what I see on another site?[+]

Self-Quantum Liquidity estimates amounts from on-chain liquidity and the current price using floating-point maths. Small differences are normal. Fees shown as owed only include what the contract has recorded.

A network shows an error or loads slowly.[+]

Self-Quantum Liquidity uses free public endpoints, which can be rate-limited. Wait a moment and press Rescan or Refresh. Other networks keep working.

Creating a position

The Create position button is disabled.[+]

It stays disabled until all of these are true: your wallet is connected and on the right network, you have entered a valid amount, you have enough of each token, any needed approvals are done, and you have ticked the risk box.

Why two approvals?[+]

Each token that goes into the position needs its own permission for the Uniswap position manager. If you pay with the native coin, that side needs no approval.

My wallet shows “multicall” instead of “mint”.[+]

That is what you see when you pay with native ETH: one call wraps the ETH, mints the position and refunds any excess. It is expected. Check the amount of ETH attached.

The amounts I received differ from the estimate.[+]

The price can move between the estimate and the transaction being mined. The slippage setting limits how far it can move before the transaction fails. Unused amounts stay in your wallet.

What is the “leftover approval”?[+]

Self-Quantum Liquidity offers the second token a small 1% margin so the amount you typed is the limiting side. Whatever is not spent stays approved. Use Revoke leftover approval after success to set it back to zero.

Can I close or adjust a position in Self-Quantum Liquidity?[+]

Not yet. Use the Uniswap interface or the contract. The Developer guide shows the calls.

Can I create v2 or v4 positions?[+]

Not yet. Select a v3 pool in the Builder.

Can I make a one-sided range order?[+]

Not in the Builder yet: its ranges straddle the current price. You can read range-order positions created elsewhere.

Your token and the Lab

The $SQL tab says my token has no address.[+]

Paste the token address into the box, or set it in lib/config.ts (or NEXT_PUBLIC_TOKEN_ADDRESS at build time). Self-Quantum Liquidity never invents an address.

The launch button is disabled.[+]

It needs: a connected wallet on the right network, a starting price and an amount above 0, enough of each token, the exact approvals, and the risk box ticked. If the fee tier is greyed out, a pool for that pair already exists at that tier.

It says a pool already exists.[+]

Pick a different fee tier, or add liquidity to the existing pool from the pools list with Builder →.

A Lab tool asks me to connect a wallet.[+]

That tool is locked to whitelisted wallets. Connect a wallet; if it is on the whitelist the tool opens, otherwise you will see that it is not on the list.

I am the owner but my wallet is not whitelisted.[+]

Add your address to lib/whitelist.ts (or NEXT_PUBLIC_WHITELIST at build time) and rebuild. Nobody is whitelisted by default.

Are the Lab numbers real?[+]

It depends on the tool. Each panel is labelled Preview, Synthetic, Live or Real maths. See the tools table.

Messages and what to do

MessageMeaningWhat to do
You rejected the request in your wallet. Nothing was sent. You cancelled a prompt in the wallet.Nothing to fix. Try again when ready.
Your wallet is on a different network. The wallet and the selected pool are on different networks.Click Switch to the pool's network and confirm in the wallet.
Not enough X in your wallet for this amount.Your balance of that token (or native coin, if paying with it) is below the amount needed.Lower the amount, add funds, or turn off “Pay with ETH” to use a wrapped token you hold.
Not enough native coin to pay for gas.The wallet cannot cover the network fee.Add the network's native coin (for example ETH on Base).
The token transfer failed. Check your balance and approval. The token contract refused to move the tokens.Confirm the balance and that the approval transaction completed, then retry.
The price moved beyond your slippage limit. The price changed too much between your click and the block.Retry. If the market is moving fast, wait, or raise slippage a little (not much).
The transaction deadline passed. It took longer than 20 minutes to be mined.Retry. A fresh deadline is set each time.
Price is above/below this range, so only one token would be needed. The pool's price is outside the range you picked, so a deposit needs only one token.Enter the amount of the token the message names, or move the range around the price.
The transaction was mined but failed. It executed on chain but reverted.Check the transaction on the explorer. Nothing was created. Try again, and review slippage and balances.
Could not read the pool from the network. The public endpoint did not respond.Wait a moment and retry. Rescan the Pools tab.
Could not reach the networks right now.All endpoints failed at once, often a rate limit or your own connection.Check your connection and press Rescan.
That is not a valid 0x address. The address has the wrong length or characters.Paste the full 42-character address starting with 0x.
Checksum mismatch.A mixed-case address does not pass the check, which usually means a typo.Copy the address again from its source.
Could not read these tokens. Check that both are ERC-20 tokens on this network. The addresses are not tokens on the selected network.Select the right network and check each address on its explorer.
The two tokens must be different. You entered the same address twice.Enter two different tokens.

Still stuck?

  1. Reload the page and try again on a different network, to see if the problem is the endpoint.
  2. Confirm your wallet is on the right network and unlocked.
  3. Look up the transaction on the block explorer if one was sent.
  4. Check Security if anything felt strange. If you suspect a scam, stop and follow the incident steps there.
